I love to travel! I mean, who doesn’t right? If only money isn’t the problem then why not do it! Traveling has always been a passion of mine so every time me and the husband plans our trip, we make sure that we spend it to the fullest. There are soo much great places out there, all you have to do is to travel and experience! But one thing to put in mind, that when traveling one always make sure to have Travel Insurance for safety purposes! It is better safe than sorry. Every time we buy our tickets either online or through our agent, we make sure that we have our insurance. One time, when we went traveling in the border of Cambodia and Thailand then off to Laos and Burma we purchased a safety Backpackers Insurance! Hubby and I enjoy backpacking. We had fun when we went touring around those places. I only wish we bring along the little boy but he was soo small that time.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that, when traveling wherever you maybe going one should try to check your agent or online for insurances. The husband has same thing like this Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance because he travels a lot every year! I am glad I found this site because they offer different kinds of travel insurances specially to those of you travel bugs like me;) Either you want an insurance for holidays, cruise or those cheap travel insurances they have it available. I have to read more information too because we are going to travel again soon! Well, vacation will be over soon;) Now, go ahead and check it out! Summer is here and I’m sure most of you are going away to unwind!

One of the oft overlooked promotional tools in blogging is tagging. Tags are word or phrases that you use to associate to your blog post. An article on the Kizuna Satellite for example could be tagged with Kizuna Satellite, satellite internet, or plain Kizuna. Sometimes folks can be quite lazy in tagging their posts so some smart guys came up with ways to make tagging blog posts easier.
If you’re a wordpress user, you’re in luck, there’s a wonderful plugin called Simple tags. This is a really cool plug-in that will automatically suggest tags for your the blog post you just created.
If you’re with blogger, then it’s just too bad. Well, not really. Zemanta is your solution for those tag suggestions. I have been using Zemanta for a while now and has been satisfied with what it does.
One important tag that a blogger should always associate with their posts are Technorati Tags. This allows your post to be categorized under Technorati. You benefit from having Technorati tags in your posts via tag searches made in Technorati. Here’s a very good discussion on Technorati Tags that I’ve read.
Again, if you’re a wordpress user, here’s a Technorati Tag plugin that makes life very easy.
For Blogger users, you may have to follow the instruction in the above linked discussion or, you could use this nifty service where you just type in the tags you want, click on the make code button, and then copy-and-paste the resulting code in you blog post.
The thing to remember really is to ensure that you don’t get crazy lazy and not put in any tag in your posts. By so doing you miss out on one of the simple promotional tools out there.

I have a lot of stuff that needs to blog about but I will just start it off with this Toronto bed and breakfast that I saw earlier because a friend of my Mom will be there this July for a seminar and they asked me if I know something about Hotels in Toronto! I was just looking through and find this site really interesting! they have informations about what to do if you’re coming from the US. What to do in the border and stuff like that! Really a great site if you’re looking a place to stay! And this Bed and breakfast Toronto looks great! Check it out:)

I arrived in Cebu City last Saturday morning. I had no idea yet on how my life in Cebu will turn out. Before I left Davao, I was thinking of spending a few hundreds for the airport shuttle that would take me to my boarding house. Fortunately, my Tito is working in Cebu City and he was able to spare some of his time to fetch me from the airport which saved me some bucks. Hihihihi.
I was informed by my ‘housemates’, who went ahead, that our room does not have much space. After seeing our room, I can attest that we really have a small room, in the literal sense. When asked by our fellow classmates, we describe our room as “Bed, bed and space for Eric”. It’s an air-conditioned room big enough for the five of us. Next to our room is our wash room which is big enough for a person to move around. Outside our room is the building’s common dining room and living room. We are the only ones using the building’s first floor. The living and dining room became our study and working area. No one else uses the ground floor’s facilities since most of the building’s occupants are working at night and asleep during daytime.
Water is a scarce resource in Cebu City, as well as sunlight, clean air and good food. We had to pay for the water we drink which is so different in Davao City wherein tap water is as good as purified water. Drinking from the faucet is suicide, when you are in Cebu. The weather has been acting so bad lately that we see the sun on rare occasions. The air is polluted, er, not so clean. I had to cover my nose with my handkerchief each time I go to the downtown area of the city. And finally, I miss the good food from Davao City. We’re living at Capitol Site in Cebu City and finding a good and affordable restaurant to eat is very difficult. The owner of the building where we stay does not allow us to bring a stove. *sad face*
On my second day in Cebu, I was able to meet Mark Monta and Kevin Ray Chua, two of my blogging friends from the Visayas Region. I met them for a short talk at Dunkin Donuts in SM Cebu. I was able to introduce my plan of helping them organize their Cebu Bloggers Society through the Visayas Bloggers directory and aggregator site. It was a short talk. After introducing the Mindanao Blogging Experience, I was able to get their support in establishing the Visayas Bloggers and promised to help me in promoting VB to their fellow Visayas Bloggers.
The location of our Review Center is not good also. It’s located in Colon Street, which we consider as the scariest place on earth. We were warned before that the place breeds the worst of all kinds of thieves, snatchers and hold-uppers. For Davao people, imagine Uyanguren, Magallenes, San Pedro, Claveria, Agdao and Bangkerohan merged into a single street. For the Manila people, imagine the whole of Quiapo diverged into a street. I may be exaggerating but that’s the way we see that place. Scary.
Our review schedule is MWF mornings. After our review, we head back to our boarding house to continue answering the questions/problems from our review class. On our TTh days, we start our days doing our laundry. (*Labangon = Laba + Bangon). I rarely find the time to open my computer or go to an internet cafe to surf. Most of my time are spent on studying and answering problems in mathematics and communications.
Tagalog/Filipino is taboo. That’s another fact I learned in Cebu. Unlike in Davao where people can easily use Tagalog/Filipino when conversing, the people in Cebu have no appetite for the language. Eric would usually give me that “no Tagalog please” look every time a Tagalog word slips my mouth when talking to the locals. Cebu bisaya is also different from Davao bisaya. Here are some of the words I learned during my first week stay in Cebu:
Cebu Bisaya - Davao Bisaya - English/Filipino
One week is just seven days, but for me, it seems more than just a week. I spent the rest of my week thinking how better Davao as compared to Cebu, thinking of the people, places and things I missed in Davao, and thinking how I would spend the rest of the 6 months (less one week) here in the land of the Bisaya. Just like what Brother Vince said, I’m a Cebuboy now, I have to learn how to adapt the Cebuboy way.
P.S. I got sick last Tuesday. I got colds which I guess was caused by the problematic weather.
*Labangon is a residential district in Cebu City.

Basta special, me itlog.
I really have to write about the origins of that statement above sometime, before I grow old and forget about it. It has nothing to do with where Sam and I went today though, on this rainy Thursday afternoon. I had long wanted to take a leisurely walk down Raon Street, haven for do-it-yourself’ers and handymen. I needed to purchase two simple tools: a set of hex keys (Allen wrenches) and a rubber dust blower. The Allen wrench I needed to be able to open up the old HP scanner/fax/printer we have at home so I can clean up the underside of the glass bed. The rubber dust blower I needed to clean in between the keys of the office-issue T43 (pre-owned by some smoker who shall not be named).

And since we were in Quiapo we just had to drop in on Ma Mon Luk. Last time we were here was in October of 2005. The special mami and special siopao meal is something worth dying for on a rainy Thursday afternoon.

While we did find both blower and wrenches after a long and winding trek through puddles and occasional rain, I also found out where to get stuff that I otherwise wouldn’t even dream of getting, like the airsoft helmets and masks above. No I didn’t get any of those.

This is a long overdue post about our Cebu trip! It was so nice to go back there. We are liking Cebu again and I even asked the husband if we can find a property there! haha
Hopefully in God’s time!
So, we stayed in Cebu for a total of 4 days on our way to Boracay! First night we stayed in Waterfront Lapu-Lapu because hubby wasn’t able to book earlier in Marriott! But we stayed in Marriott the next day! We like it there since we have reward points and hubby knows someone in the management;) After checking in, we went shopping. We watched movies and then met a few old friends! We just love the time we spent there…Reminds me of our gf-bf time in Cebu! In case you don’t know. Hubby and I met in Cebu 8 years ago:D hehe The next day though, we left for Bora! We left our things in Marriott! And then when we arrived from Boracay, we stayed there for another night! Then we went to Santo Niño and Magellan’s Cross! I want to go to the Tops but time wasn’t enough!
Here are some pics taken in the church! Not much but I was so happy to see Cebu again..I’m sure there will be more trips and visits there!;)

That was it
I have more shots around Santo Niño and Magellan’s cross but will just post that 4 shots there! hehe I’m tired. We have a lot of things going around in the house….

Ah..who wouldn’t want to visit Europe? I’d love to go visit as much many cities and countries there! I’d love to go visit Rome. I have always wanted to go there. When I was in Vienna for 3 weeks many years ago. I asked the husband to have a side trip but it was his business trip. So I guess, we really need to go there again and explore more. I’d love to attend a Holy Mass where the Pope is there! So this Rome hotels is a must check. Great deals and affordable rooms. I might want to stay just near the Basilica. Next destination is Paris!!! One must visit Paris once in her lifetime or should I say more times? haha I’d love to visit the tower, the Louvre, and other must visit places there! And I was looking for Hotels Paris and found really great deals that I think I need to reserve rooms if ever! We planned to go there by August actually! But right now, I’m not sure if it will push through because as said, we are doing house renovations and some extensions in the house..We’ll see!
And then I have friends in Dublin from high schools years that we just got back to chatting again since last year. They are inviting us to visit there too. Most of them are nurses and they promised us that they will tour us when we get there! Very inviting! So this Dublin Hotels came in handy for me! Great deals with totally lower room rates compared to another sites! Then I’d love to visit London. We had a stop over there while we went to Vienna but it was only in the airport so going there again sounds handy to me;) And London Hotels has really great room rates and affordable ones! How about you? Any European plans soon? ![]()
