For the past few days, some parts of the Republic of the Philippines particularly in Mindanao Lanao Area is not in good condition. Conflict arises between MILF and Philippine Government due to MOA and etc that Muslims has been fighting for. Many civilians were dead when they were not supposed to; they were victims of harassments and vengeance. We can fight without killing innocent people. The fight should be fair. If the MILF hated the government then burned up the Philippine Palace or the President herself. Killing innocent people is an act of COWARDNESS. They are hiding inside the innocent people’s skirt. Why not show up?
What the hell is the MILF thinking? They wanted to own and rule Mindanao? It’s all craziness. They don’t have the right to rule Mindanao. They are still out numbered by Filipino Christians. I SALUTE PGMA for not signing that said MOA.
If I were the Philippine President I will declare all out war. It’s better for that damn MILF to be killed than seeing blameless people dead.
NANAWAGAN PO KAMI KAY MADAMME PRESIDENT GLORIA ARROYO “ STOP NEGOTIATING/ RE-NEGOTIATIONG TO THEM. I ALL OUT WAR MU NA.” If you love the people in Mindanao then do some actions to save those innocent people. This fight is not between the innocents but it is the fight between the Government and MILF.

Just to share what I've got while I'm browsing the internet this morning of Aug.17,2008 when all of a sudden I spotted this news and become curious regarding the content... By MAGGIE MICHAEL, Associated Press Writer

CAIRO, Egypt - A 27-year-old Egyptian woman gave birth to septuplets early Saturday in the coastal city of Alexandria, family members and the hospital director said.
Ghazala Khamis was in good condition after having a blood transfusion during her Caesarean section due to bleeding, said Emad Darwish, director of the El-Shatbi Hospital where she gave birth.
The newborns, four boys and three girls, weigh between 3.2 pounds and 6.17 pounds and are in stable condition, Darwish said. They have been placed in incubators in four different hospitals that have special premature baby units, he said.
"This is a very rare pregnancy — something I have never witnessed over my past 33 years in this profession," Darwish told The Associated Press by phone from the hospital.

Dubai: People caught working on a visit visa will be fined more than Dh50,000 and banned from entering the UAE and those employing them will face harsh penalties, a senior interior ministry official said on Wednesday.
Under the new rules each visa applicant will have to pay a Dh1,000 refundable deposit, Mohammad Ahmad Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Entry Permits at the DNRD, said.
“People who go there from the UAE after the expiry of their visa will not be issued a new visa. It is best for them to go back to their country and wait for their visa to enter the UAE again,” he said. He said a visit visa holder will be allowed to enter the UAE once within two months from the date of issue of the visa.

Yep, if you’ve been around this block long enough you know that Southisms.com was born on a July.
And so was I.
You can’t blame me for loving the month of July. This month has been packed with so many things I hardly have time to go online and type one of ‘em posts for the birthday of this brainchild. Anyway, brief history: Southisms used to be and was supposed to be (exclusively) a music blog. The rise of the niche blogging hype had called this space for that purpose initially. However, the writer has transformed over time from the booze-guzzling musicionado to the tube-whirring, film-powered “student” of life, the universe and everything. So now this must be a blog about the universe and everything, as far as my media brain cell is concerned. But can’t help drifting back to music-related events since it’s still pretty much part of my nature.
Say for instance, I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz about the upcoming Muzika del Sur Music Awards 2008 for August. Unfortunately I had an ear infection so I wasn’t able to cover their preliminary events.
I’ve heard the nominations have closed and that’s where the fun usually starts.
In my experience working for the Research Team before, the awards features a range of categories namely: Best Music Video, Rock, Ragga, Metal, Pop, Hip-Hop, and The Mindanawon Award. Each band in the final roster goes through a nomination process and goes through an extensive review by a panel of jurors. Last year, we incorporated an SMS system which allowed fans to vote for their favorite artists to be awarded the People’s Choice. Unfortunately, the process was inevitably problematic and faced a slight amount of controversy when misinformation about the texting information was proliferated. Thankfully, the bands were such sports about it.
This year’s music awards event had also its own set of problems this year such as the controversy surrounding an Idol Grill (Davao) gig. My friend Shieka, who was part of the production of the said event had this to rant on the Friendster bulletins:
IMAGINE IF THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU:
** YOU HAVE THIS EVENT THAT YOU PREPARED FOR ALMOST A MONTH PROMOTING AND DOING ALL THE STUFF JUST TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.
YOU INVITED LOCAL ARTISTS FROM CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY ( GASULINA) AND TAGUM CITY(KEYK) TO PERFORM JUST TO PRESENT UNITY AMONG MINDANAO ARTISTS, NOT TO MENTION SOME LOCAL DAVAO BANDS WHO ALSO EAGERLY PARTICIPATED JUST TO SHOW SUPPORT ON THE VISION OF MUZIKA DEL SUR.
** MOST OF THE LOCAL ARTIST ORGANIZATONS FLOCKED DURING THE EVENT JUST TO SHOW SUPPORT ON THE DRIVE OF PROMOTING THE MUSIC SCENE OF MINDANAO.
**FRIENDS,FAMILIES,TRI-MEDIA WENT TO WITNESS THE FIRST PRE-EVENT ACTIVITY OF THE UPCOMING MUSIC AWARDS 2008. THEN HERE COMES OUR HERO!
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROGRAM OUR IDOL COMMAND AND HIS JUSTICE LEAGUE DECIDED TO PULL OUT OUR EVENT BACK DROP STREAMER BECAUSE HIS IDOL LOGO WILL NOT BE SEEN (A. BY THE CAMERA, B. BY THE PEOPLE, C. BY HIS EMPLOYEES, D. BY HIS DRINKING BUDDIES, OR E. ALL OF THE ABOVE). AND WHEN WE ASKED HIS HIGHNESS TO JUST RECONSIDER OUR EVENT BECAUSE SOMEHOW WE PAID HIM TO HAVE OUR EVENT IN HIS KINGDOM… WHOOOOSHHHHHH!!!! OUR IDOL WITH ALL HIS MIGHT POINTED HIS MAGIC WAND TO HIS “CLOWNS” AND ORDERED ONCE AGAIN LADIES AND GENTLEMEN …ONCE AGAIN WITH(DRUM ROLL PLEASE..) ” I COMMAND YOU TO STOP YOUR EVENT! BY THE POWER OF MY MAGIC WAND MAGSITIGIL KAYOO MGA MAHADERA!! KEVERRR KUNG SINO PA YANG MGA MEDIA AT SPONSORS AT BISITA AT BANDANG NANDIYAN, WIZH KO EL! MAGDUSA KAYO MGA BRUHA! ” SO WITH ALL THE SHAME AND DEGRADATION WE PACK OUR THINGS,OUR PRIDE,OURSELVES, AND OUR HATRED HOME.
WE SOUGHT OUR REFUGE AT THE DURIAN BAR (THANKS PAOLO).
Being a musician and part of the media myself, that is NOT an ethical way to treat people from the media and music industry. The fact that the event organizers have already paid for the place secures their discretion to manage the setting and materials to be used for the event. Moreover, once the place is paid for, the event organizer and the outlet comes into an agreement that cannot be revoked under any circumstance. The adage the show must go on is a practical truth because it’s too expensive to flush out the production when it is happening and it insults the professional integrity of all people involved in the production just because one person had a little problem.
Moreover Idol Grill never apologized to the production team and the bands for this horrible treatment. Publicly or otherwise.
Anyways, I hate how there should always be politics in these events. Why can’t people be fun-loving and just listen to some friggin music?
Hello, buy me a beer and earn a friend!

Dubai: The city will have the largest number of supertowers - buildings that rise more than 100 habitable floors - as five more will be added to the seven under development, Gulf News has learnt.
The new supertowers are part of a cluster of 11 projects worth Dh25 billion to be built in a major master-planned development that will be announced in October.
“All five supertowers will be about 600 metres tall - rising more than 100 floors. These are some of the most unique projects incorporating the latest building technologies and consuming up to 60 per cent less energy,” Adrian Smith, who designed Burj Dubai - currently the world’s tallest tower - told Gulf News in an exclusive interview.
His firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architects, is designing the projects.
Thirteen supertowers are currently under development worldwide, including seven in Dubai. The five new ones will change the equation heavily in favour of the emirate. The supertowers already announced in Dubai include Al Burj, Burj Al Alam, Princess Tower, Marina 101 and Pentominum.

It was March 13, 2008 when this scandal happened. From CEBU International Airport we go directly to SM Cebu Travel Lounge to leave our baggage there. We have deposited our baggage there because we believe that this place is safe. At 7:00 pm, we came back to that lounge and to my surprise my baggage were forcefully opened, pad locked were already broken and so with the combination lock. I and my colleagues were very upset of what had happened. We immediately complained it to the person in-charge there but nothings happened. They told us “Maam, sorry kayo of what had happened, wla jud me kabalo ani, sigurado jud mo Maam na locked na inyo baggage?” Wow! What a question? Obvious ba, gkan me sa Airport, gkan nag byahe. “As of now Maam/ Sir, wla pa jud me mahatag na action ani ky wla nman jud among Manager, npauli na. Kung pwde lng Maam, ayaw lng sa ni ipaabot sa taas, amo lng ni sa investigate amo mga employee dri”, they added. They gave us an email add with the name of the person to contact. Sabi nila, we will call you Maam pag me updates na, binigay nmin yon mobile number namin, I’ve sent email to their Manager but still we did not received any feedback from them.
Why am I writing this blog guys pra din nman magiging aware yon mga kababayan natin that SM CEBU TRAVEL LOUNGE is not a safe place for our baggage. Very disappointing, a shameful lounge.

In a press conference Wednesay, government officials disclosed that poverty incidence increased by 2.5%, from 24.4% in 2003 to 26.9% in 2006.
In 2003, 24 out of 100 families in the Philippines were poor; in 2006, 27 out of 100 families were poor.
Those considered poor are Filipino families of five individuals whose monthly incomes were below P6,274 in 2006.
The actual number of poor Filipino families went up by 16%, from 4 million in 2003 to 4.7 million in 2006.
The actual number of poor Filipinos increased from 23.8 million in 2003 to 27.6 million in 2006, or a 3.8 million increase in the number of poor people. National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General Augusto Santos said he informed President Arroyo about this data Tuesday night through a text message. He also sent her a memorandum on the 2006 Official Poverty Statistics Wednesday morning. Asked what was Arroyo’s response, Santos said: “I have not obtained a response from the President.” Given the bleak poverty figures, the government will not likely meet its target to reduce poverty incidence from 28% in 2004 to between 17-19% in 2010.
