listen to maddy gaiman interview neil.and neil read the first chapter of stardust.neil is coming this november. there isn't a definite date yet. sayang, because i could have gotten the piso fare for it. nov is already full and i don't know if i can squeeze him in. and there is the question of flying all the way to manila just to see the man... i would if i was certain that i would have another chance for a hug like the last time. and if i would be able to spend the whole day just listening to him speak. bummer.

stardust is finally showing in the states. so far, it has been receiving good reviews from the critics, especially for the ever-sultry michelle pfeiffer's performance as lamia the witch. this just makes me all the more excited for the movie to arrive at the philippine shores. thankfully, i saw a poster up at the coming soon wall of
NCCC mall.
I. CAN'T. WAIT!(and I want a poster!!!)
i'm still not totally happy with the fact that claire daines portrays the feisty yvaine, i am going to get over that fact and just enjoy the movie because of every other good thing that is there for it. besides, neil gaiman himself liked the movie. and i have this vague impression that charles vess does as well.
so... *skippity-skippity-skip!*
I. CAN'T WAIT!and. and. and!
there are already neil gaiman merchandise. amazing, huh! even the man himself is as hot as his creations. check them out here at
neverwear. there are still two things for sale for now though. hehe! but i particularly want that one there. tee-hee!

*skippity-skippity-skip!*
(i wish it were christmas already. or at least i wish stardust would be showing already. that would close to feeling like christmas, too. tee-hee!)

i told jan one time that i think though my biological age is 28, i am really a teen-ager in real age. and oh, look. this confirms it. harhar!
and since i am a teena-ger at heart, let me plug once more my favorite pubescent blogger, maddy gaiman. who is still at it, blogging away at her father's site. taking over is more like it. tee-hee.
more maddy at neilgaiman.com/journal. do scoot over for some teen-age whimsy. she is such an adorable girl who will give her father a run for his money someday. and if i were neil, man, i'd be a real proud daddy to maddy.
woo-hoo! that rhymes! a literary breakthrough. woo-hoo!
...

there are many other interesting things and thoughts to blog about right now. but these interesting things and thoughts have actually made me pretty busy and tired lately that i have naught the energy to summarize everything into a few paragraphs. and it is actually best told than written down. with snide comments and raised eyebrows or exasperated expressions and deep sighs.
so. i will just introduce maddy gaiman to the public, neil's youngest. for the past and next few days, she will be neil's guest blogger. reading her eleven (or is twelve or thirteen)-year-old entries makes me want to be gaiman's daughter. amazing little kid who takes after her dad's humor. a few years from now, i might have to search her own stories in the bookstore. have a kick out of her. check out her entry below (i can't seem to find a way to link just her entry. strange. anyhoo).
I'm not very good at this whole title thing.
Good evening everyone! This is marvelous Maddy here and as I promised today was much more exciting then yesterday meaning I have lots to report.
1. Guillermo del Toro can shout "action" very loudly and I do not recommend standing next to him as this event happens. I'm pretty sure that I might be deaf in my right ear.
2. I learned a lot about Hungary from what Julian, our driver, was telling dad on the way onto set this morning except for I wasn't exactly listening that much on account of the fact I was reading a book by Meg Cabot. (At first I thought it was Neil writing the entry and got taken a back at this point... "Neil reading Meg Cabot? As in Princess Diaries Meg Cabot?" Then re-read from the beginning and saw it was actually his daughter. Whew!) Eventually I had to stop though because I have troubles reading in the car and I felt a little bit woozy (cool word).
3. Guillermo's daughters, Mariana, age, 11, and Marisol, age 6, (not sure if I spelled those names right) are quite awesome. I hung out with them most of the day today except for when they ditched me and then I had to follow my weird dad around. (Just kidding! In no way is he weird no not at all in a million years.....)
4. Selma Blair is really, really super nice and did anyone else realize that she was in Legally Blonde because I sure didn't. She also has a cool doggie named Wink.
5. As fun as Budapest is I miss my friends back home... not that any of them told me to mention that *cough* LEXI *cough*! P.S. now that I said Lexi's name I should probably mention Akansha and Anna Rose, too. I'm sure you three feel very special now. :)
6. There was a really cool storm-ish type thing while we were driving back to the hotel and that was the first time that I have actually seen the full on lightning bolt thing so close to me. It was pretty wonderful!
7. It is really weird/cool seeing Hellboy up close with all the make-up and everything!
8. I like how they bring you watermelon, red currants, and raspberries when you are just sitting there on set and getting a little bit hungry. (Hungry in Hungary HAHAHA GET IT?!)
9. I am running out of exciting things to tell you. Plus it is 11:40 and I am getting a bit tired and I think dad wants the Internet plug. :)
Hope you enjoyed it. I shall be back tomorrow!!! Have a brilliant day.

temporary website up!
and what fun! a digital coloring book of charles vess's (my favoritest! along with brian froud) works. charles vess did the art for the illustrated stardust.
