Where to borrow, buy and sell Entrecard Credits?

Entrecard

Recently, I posted about how Entrecard Credits (ECs) are becoming the “virtual money of the blogosphere.” You can buy some services through it like advertising to Problogger.net and John Chow, getting a new layout for your blog, pay for your hosting, etc.

There can be many ways on how you can earn ECs to purchase these great services. The conventional way is to drop your cards to several sites and getting advertisement from other users. But you need to spend most of your time to drop your cards (and get a card drops in return) and convince every potential advertiser to advertise on your blog. It takes time and effort. The trend now is to purchase and borrow ECs.

Where to borrow ECs?
The EntreBanker let’s you loan ECs, another brilliant idea from Mr. Biz Beacon. EntreBanker prioritizes the newcomers who are still in need to of ECs to launch their ad campaigns.

Am I ready to dump my TextLinkAds account?

Text Link Ads (TLA) has helped me a lot on my hosting and domain dues and other online transactions. Adding funds to Paypal was still not possible in the Philippines so my TLA payments are what I use to pay my hosting and domain. I don’t have a credit card (except for my mom’s GSIS e-card) so I have to depend on my Paypal balance to pay for these things.

I was earning at least $100/month with TLA and the links to this blog generate most of my earnings (>60%). For a starter in blog monetization, 100 bucks really mean a huge amount. However, after reading some of Google PR drops and sites getting banned from Google results because of paid links, I had to reconsider things.

John Chow’s blog for example was number 1 in Google results for “make money online” keywords but now it’s nowhere to be found. Some bloggers however, like Darren Rowse of Problogger.net suggested to “Forget About Page Rank and Build a Better Blog” and further emphasized that it’s the quality of content that gives you traffic and that relying in Google is a bad move. Dosh Dosh also stated that Google PR are just numbers and a “webmaster fetish”, i However, for a struggling blogger who’s still building a traffic like me, the searches from Google and other search engines really matter a lot.

How I Increased Adsense Earnings?

Just recently, I’ve noticed that my Adsense earnings went higher, averaging to $7 per day, from previously $1-3 per day.

My first 5 months with Adsense were very frustrating. I did several ways to make more money but I’ve always ended up with earning not more than $1 per day. I patiently waited for 5 months before I could start receiving my first Adsense check. It was even a test when my first Adsense check was lost. Fortunately, I have immediately put a hold to my account.

How I increased my Adsense earnings?
1. More websites means more earnings. This was what I initially thought. Then I put up the most visited ones: lyrics sites particularly offering OPM songs and celebrity blogs. I even put up spam blogs using Blogger. I failed. Why? Because more websites means more time to maintain them all. Based on my personal experience, it should be adequate to maintain up to 3 websites.

2. Optimizing my websites. I read several SEO sites, Google Adsense optimization site, etc. Some sites were quite helpful.

3. Posting about free stuff. I posted about free top-level domains, free medical e-books, free Asian drama and anime online streaming, free Rapidshare link, free OPM mp3, free Japanese manga, etc. These are among my most viewed posts.

A step-by-step procedure on how to withdraw funds from your Paypal account is found here.

Pinoy United: A Social Networking Exclusive for Filipinos

Filipinos never get tired of social networks. In fact, the largest portion of the Friendster users are Filipinos. As of 2006, 5 million Filipinos have a Friendster account. But this may also include duplicate and spam accounts. My brother, who is a Friendster-junkie (and we are always argue because of it) has 3 accounts! And he spends more than 2 hours browsing photos, adding more “friends”, commenting, etc.

Recently, I stumbled upon and joined Pinoy United, a social network exclusive for Filipinos around the globe.

What is Pinoy United?
It is the latest social networking site with Filipinos in mind. The site is based in the United Kingdom and aims to cater for Filipinos across the globe. Similar with other networking sites, members can stay in touch with their friends, connect with new friends, share photos, discover new interests and just hang out.

How does Pinoy United differ from other social networking site?
Aside from being exclusive for Filipinos, their utmost concern is their members’ safety. One can easily report abusive acts from other members.

Entrecard Credits: The Virtual Money of the Blogosphere

Entrecard

Entrecard credits these days should be dubbed as the “virtual money” of the blogosphere. It is now possible to do online transactions without the need to spend real money, using Entrecard credits. With this possibility, users are also exploring new ways on how to earn more credits.

If you visit the Entrecard Shop, you’ll find great ways to spend your ecs:

  • For Advertising: You can buy an ad space or text, a blog review, and directory submission.
  • Buy Products and Services: Buy an e-book, pay and buy a web space, a blog installation, graphic design, CDs and DVDs, comments for your blog (yeah, even this), search engine optimization, etc.

Of course we know that we can buy ad space on different blogs through browsing the directory. To buy all these products, you have to have enough credits. We already know the conventional ways to earn credits: by dropping and receiving drop cards from others, every time someone advertises in our widgets and receiving donations from others.

Join These Contests and Win Entrecard Credits

Entrecard Logo

I am getting addicted to Entrecard, the first and only free exchange network that really promises traffic to your websites. You can advertise your Entrecard on any blog in the network, for free, for a number of days using your Entrecard credits or ECs. Getting ECs isn’t hard. You earn them for free by networking (dropping your card for other bloggers) and displaying other Entrecards on your widget.

Holding Entrecard Credit contests is becoming a trend among Entrecard users these days. It is another way of getting ECs and driving blog traffic for contest holders.

Here is a list of sites with active contests as of January 13, 2008:

1. Win $20 and 300 Entrecard Credits at PinoyAmbisyoso.com. International Entrecard users with Paypal account are qualified to join. Paypal will be used to claim your $20 prize in case you win. Yuwie, the Social Network that Pays

Yuwie: The Social Network that Pays!

My sister was telling me a while ago about Yuwie, a social networking site (like Friendster, MySpace, Facebook) that pays its members for socializing! She has been looking for means to earn money online that she grabs every money-making opportunity she encounters. Although, I was hesitating to join, I accepted her invitation. It won’t cost me nothing to join anyway, so I said I will give it a try.

How does Yuwie work?
It works similarly with other social networking sites: you invite your friends, they view your page, they invite more friends, you build your network, you get more friends, etc. But it is different from the social networks we are used to because it rewards its user by cutting them in on some of the advertising profits.

You get paid for every page views and referrals. It works as a pyramid, making money off of everyone down the line. Social networks earn millions, or probably billions from advertising but none of these sites share their revenues to their users, until Yuwie introduced this feature.

How the send and receive feature of Paypal helped me?

The recent development of Paypal service in the Philippines, which now includes receive feature has helped a lot of internet entrepreneurs, bloggers, online auctioneers, sellers and buyers, webmasters, and the regular internet users.

In my case, it also helped me a lot:

1. For my web hosting: I am now able to pay for web hosting for my sites without worrying about my account being deleted for not logging in for days. My sites have been hosted by Ejam Hosting for almost a year but due to limited features and increasing website demand on bandwidth and space, I decided to switch to a paid host.

2. Online Auctions: I can now join in online auctions without the need to worry on the payment method. Most online auctions support Paypal such as eBay. I’ve been wanting to buy a 3G phone. My Paypal balance, however, is not yet sufficient to buy a new one.

Published by Jam under Blogging, Making Money Online, PayPal, Tips, Tips

For Philippine users:

Are you looking for ways to withdraw funds from your PayPal account? PMT talks about several ways to withdraw funds.

My PayPal was verified however I could not withdraw funds from it because I used an American Express card to validate it. I tried the Xoom method but sadly, they have cancelled intra-Philippine transactions. Good thing my mom has a GSIS eCard Plus which I found out as a new way to withdraw my funds.

What is GSIS eCard Plus?

The GSIS eCard Plus is a VISA-powered card and is the official GSIS membership identification card of government employees. Just like any other government-issued ID card, the GSIS eCard Plus is widely accepted as proof of identification for whatever legal transactions.

What to do with my PayPal balance?

PayPal Philippine Verified

I am am now officially a verified PayPal account holder! Yay! I used my aunt’s Equitable PCI American Express credit card (sheesh!) to verify my address. I currently have more than $100 balance, thanks to Text Link Ads; unfortunately, I could not withdraw the funds using this credit card.

As Mihawk pointed out, you can only transfer (withdraw) your funds on a VISA card. MasterCard, American Express or any other card are not yet approved by Paypal. Non-VISA cards can only be used to verify your account.

Pinoy Money Talk listed the possible ways to withdraw funds from your Paypal using some accepted credit and debit cards in the Philippines.

Can I Use Smart Money for PayPal Account Verification?

Published by Jam under Making Money Online, Tips, Tips

This was my first question when I learned about the new receive feature of PayPal in the Philippines. Since Smart Money is a debit card and it is powered by MasterCard, I thought it will be an option to verify my PayPal account. At that time, I have an unclaimed $80 from Text-Link Ads so I was desperately looking for ways to verify my account.

I immediately contacted their Smart Costumer Care to inquire about it.

Type: Inquiry

Good day!

Recently, PayPal was made available in the Philippines to receive funds. I heard that debit cards can be used to verify my account and to withdraw my funds. Since Smart Money is a debit card which is also powered by MasterCard, can I use it to withdraw funds from my PayPal account?

Thank you!

Adsense Payments Through Western Union Quick Cash

I was so busy these past days that I haven’t checked my e-mail for 4 days. I had 61 messages, thanks to spam e-mails and some important alerts and newsletters, including my Inside Adsense subscription.

I am so happy to know that AdSense payments are now offered through Western Union Quick Cash. Gladly, Philippines is one of the countries who could avail these type of payment delivery. Other countries included are Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland), Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, and Romania.

I’ve experienced a lost check for my first payment. Gladly, I have immediately contacted the AdSense team to hold the payment before someone else could encash it. I then switched to Secured Delivery through DSL but it costs a lot ($24 for courier service). Thank God, my prayer for a hassle-free payment method was heard.

Philippines can now receive PayPal payments!

Published by Jam under Blogging, Internet, Making Money Online

I was reading the Philippine top blog, Mukamo.com, and an entry struck my attention. We can now receive Paypal payments! Finally!

Philippine netrepreneurs and average online money makers have been waiting for this opportunity. Paypal is one of the major payment methods of online money-making opportunities like eBay, ReviewMe and others, it’s one of the limiting factors.

The Paypal for Philippines campaign made way for this new improvement. Thanks to the initiators of this campaign.

Now, my next problem is how to get a credit card. :D

Agloco Viewbar now available for download

Published by Jam under Agloco, Google, Internet, Making Money Online

I’ve been a registered user of the Agloco network since January 27, 2007, but unfortunately I did not consider it yet as source for my online income, until I read about good reviews about it and how it changed online earning. I was curious how it works because I’ve also seen some of the pros using it like Dot-Com mogul himself.

As members, we have been waiting for the release of the Agloco Viewbar which is the main offering of the program. Finally, the long wait was over. I have received this e-mail from the member coordinator of Agloco, few hours ago regarding the release of the viewbar:

Make money through ad-revenue sharing

Published by Jam under Blogging, Making Money Online, Tips, Tips

Many message forums and web communities these days rely on Google Adsense to earn revenues from their websites. But earning would be impossible if not for the activity of the members. The relevancy of ads displayed would depend on the members’ posts. That’s why, community and forum admins continually seek for ways on how to attract more members. One of it is ad-revenue sharing.

What is ad-revenue sharing?
- It simply means that ad-revenues are shared to all active users.

Who can join?
- All active members who have their own Google Adsense Publisher’s IDs (GAPI). Some forums require you to meet a minimum number of posts before you can be qualified to insert your GAP

Is it allowed by Google?
- Many users are having second thoughts of joining this kind of program for a fear that they may violate the TOS of Google. Senserely said that it is ALLOWED by Google. You can also ask Google for clarification.

Make Money with MyLot.com

Are you fond in message board posting? If yes, did you know that you can actually earn money through it? Interesting, isn’t it? You get paid with what you love doing. I will introduce you to this paid-to-post program called MyLot.

There are 6 ways you can earn with MyLot.

First, you get paid with every topic you start. Your earnings will be based on the activity of the topic. If your topic was well-responded, you get a higher earning. Tips: Start a topic which you think everybody could relate to. You should avoid posting a similar topic with existing ones. This might decrease your earning. You can avoid this by performing a search at their website. It is preferred that you include an image with your post because it can also make you earn.

Second, you earn in responding to current discussions. Tips: Make your best response as possible. If your response was chosen as the best response for a discussion, it might give you a bonus earning. Make your reply longer (at least 3 lines) but with relevance to the topic.

Third, you get paid in commenting to a response.

Fourth, you get paid for referrals. You can invite your friends through e-mail or put a referral link to your website.

Fifth, if you have a website, you can include a feed. The script is customizable to fit your website layout. Feeds contain the latest posts from keyword search or tags, hottest topics for the day, recent topics, or specific users. Tip: It maybe better to choose the hottest topic because it implies that everybody could relate to it. When choosing for feeds from specific keyword or tag, make sure that it is related to your website.

Lastly, you get paid by posting photos regarding to the different topics.

What are you waiting for? Sign up now and start making money.

Was my Adsense Check lost, too?

I was supposed to receive my first Google Adsense check worth $110 this 25th of February because I chose the Standard Delivery type, but until now, I have not seen any traces of the check. I regularly visit the postal office, in fact, the postmaster already complained saying that I should wait because it will arrive just like the previous one (she was referring to my Google Adsense PIN).

When I read about publishers losing their Adsense money because someone else cashed it (Jepoy was the latest victim), I was alarmed. I immediately contacted Google informing them about my lost check asking for a possible re-issuance of the check. Gladly, I received their response within minutes. They asked for the Payment number and the amount sent (these can be found on your Payment History page). It was a relief when they told me that I can expect for re-issuance. Yay! Heeding the advice of Yuga, I chose the Secured Delivery method so similar things won’t happen.

The postal service here in the Philippines has always been sluggish. There was one time that I had to volunteer myself to look for the letter about my NMAT (National Medical Admission Test) test information from sacks of mails. I saw how disorganized the post office was. I even found undelivered mails months prior. Only one staff was sorting out the hundred piles of mails. No wonder you have to wait for days after receipt before your mails get delivered to you.
