Cebu City
A message to the Queen
Saturday, July 19th, 2008I got alarmed by the sudden turn out of things. It was two months ago when I got here in Cebu. Like any blogger who runs a personal blog, all I want is to write about my personal experiences. Thus, I published my first week in Cebu experience. Going back two days [...]
Mandaue Business Month Press Conference
Thursday, July 17th, 2008I mentioned in an earlier post that I got invited by Mr. Wilson Ng to attend the Mandaue Business Month press conference. The invitation was also open to other 15 bloggers but only a few responded because of some conflicts in schedule. Among those who attended the press conference are Aileen (http://sunchoke.net), Wil (http://misswilhelmina.com), Paul [...]
I missed blogging
Wednesday, July 16th, 2008I’ve been away from my blog for a long time. Since I moved here in Cebu, I rarely find time for blogging. It’s difficult for me to balance work, studies and blogging. I was able to maintain my online presence though through plurk, twitter and my aggregate microblog.
For these past few weeks, I kept [...]
The Davaoeño in Cebu
Monday, June 30th, 2008Contrary to expectation, I had a very enjoyable and restful stay in Cebu — exactly what I’d come here for. The Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City provided a relaxing respite for a stressed-out worker bee who hadn’t had a vacation in more than a year!
The Waterfront in Lahug is one of the largest hotels in [...]
The Cebu landscape
Saturday, June 28th, 2008As I’ve mentioned in my previous post, the last time I was here in Cebu was eons ago. I don’t even remember much of how Cebu looked like then. But how it looks like now — wow! It’s pretty amazing.
I went to Ayala Center to meet with a friend who’d arrived from Manila yesterday, and [...]
I want to meet bloggers from Cebu
Monday, June 16th, 2008While I was still in Davao, I heard a lot of stories from bloggers coming from the Visayas region on how they envy Luzon and Mindanao, particularly Manila and Davao, when it comes to offline blogging activities. It was also last month, during my first week in Cebu City, that I met Mark Monta and [...]
Barbeque at Larcian’s
Tuesday, May 27th, 2008The first week in Cebu City was very difficult on my part. I’m not used of eating carenderia food. While I was in Davao, I was spoiled with my Lola’s home-cooked meals and food from Davao’s best restaurants. I was not prepared in the sudden change of my lifestyle.
Among those things I miss about Davao [...]
Living the Bisaya way - My first week in Cebu
Saturday, May 24th, 2008I arrived in Cebu City last Saturday morning. I had no idea yet on how my life in Cebu will turn out. Before I left Davao, I was thinking of spending a few hundreds for the airport shuttle that would take me to my boarding house. Fortunately, my Tito is working in Cebu City and [...]
Things I need to work on before May 17
Tuesday, May 6th, 2008Considering that I only have eleven days left before I leave for Cebu, I think it’s time to keep myself busy doing the things that needs to be done.
Prepare my “Maleta Checklist”
I always prepare a checklist before packing my stuff whenever I go for a trip. Since I will be away from home for six [...]
Are you coming home this December?
Thursday, December 6th, 2007Anyway for those Cebuanos who’ve been away for more than 10 years, when you come back these are some of the things that will greet you:
1. You will find that dili na suroyanan ang
2. When you go South you thought you are still in
South highway is so wide already we need crossing points and bridges to get to the other sides.
People have also flocked here because of available jobs. Once upon a time the big two in MEPZA were Timex and Fairchild, now MEPZA is so full of business locators. I should have been happy. However I have reservations that perhaps developments are too much for the area. But that’s just my personal opinion.
4. Talisay and free beaches are things from memory. Congested na ang Talisay sa kadaghan ug people. Resorts na ang uso sa Lapulapu, pero dollar lang sab ang bayad. Kung gusto gihapon ka ug libre nga payag-payag lang, go further as in further to the South or North. But I am not sure anymore if there are places left unexplored because even Bantayan is now frequently visited. If you still have provinces and relatives maybe it is better to stick there.
5. You will also find that global na ang

Haven’t been around much, have I? I feel like singing Nicole’s Baby Love, and yes, Mitz that is one of my favorite song lately – besides Lani Misalucha’s Very Special Love. So in love? Yes. So shackled? Might be.
I suddenly developed a harbinger for a domesticated life. 24/7 on call. The we has finally [...]

CDO-lag
Tuesday, September 18th, 2007Just got back from CDO and Ormoc (tell all sooness) and the city is so pretty with all the left over buntings!
I miss the fiesta celebrations for the second time. I heard they had a blast from last weekend’s FU’s Anton Ramos party. My cousins told tales of drunkenness and absolute highness for three days. I just [...]
RecipeforDisasteh
Saturday, September 1st, 2007Usually affairs that start at designated times never, evah start ON time. I don’t know about you but I live in the Philippines and if it says 7pm, it must have meant 7pm CENTRAL time because we perceive it as 7pm EASTERN – one hour ahead.
The ticket says 7pm but I was frantically getting [...]
Style Watching
Wednesday, August 29th, 2007When I started seeing Bikey, Bikey had a fans club. And the fans club’s President had a sister. The president I could deal with – she probably had gotten over the fact that she’s no longer irresistible. The sister? She was another story.
If I pass by, she’d do the whisper-whisper thing and roll her [...]

Hi.
Monday, August 20th, 2007Happy Holiday! I’m doing a life upgrade now… maintaining several lives, getting a new love, keeping old friends and dishing out the toxic ones. Even my friendster has managed to keep up. There are no classes apparently and these college kids here at East, West are ordering Daiquiris and smoking and laughing so loud it’s [...]
Formo Went 2, We Three
Tuesday, August 14th, 2007I didn’t know about the rest of Cebu but I like the DJ last Saturday night at Formo’s 2nd year anniversary. They were serving Smirnoff and SMLs and Tonics and I was hazy from the disco balls of yore. Gaah. We were there at 10pm – too early for the posse. Gwen doesn’t seem [...]
Eez Launched!
Friday, August 3rd, 2007Woot!

the great big issue that was me
Monday, July 23rd, 2007I have read Harry Potter and I thought I’ll be busy reading the entire thing last weekend but na backdoor si Harry for the meantime.
Last Weekend, our department had an awarding ceremony held in Ma. Luisa Village and it was tradition that the new ones get to stand up front while the audience fires them [...]
An Omen In July
Friday, July 20th, 2007My friend Tin calls seeing a crush twice in a row an omen. I think it’s an Om for omnipotent. I don’t know but I think being with my friends three nights in a row might mean something is going to happen that will change the status quo sooner or later.
We were together last [...]
this chest of mine
Saturday, July 14th, 2007For the entire week I have been sick and sickly and almost dying I was thinking of bankrupting one of my bank accounts for investing in oxygen and a stretcher and worst, a CPR machine. Asthma is the bitch. Work is the bitchiest. Those plus days of no sleep made me crawl to my bed [...]
Moving out to move on!
Friday, July 6th, 2007Booyah! Everything significant or time consuming I do from now on mostly has to be on weekends and that means moving into a new apartment this Saturday because that’ll take up the entire day. But I wouldn’t be lifting any finger because I’m paying the moving service a lot they can just solicit tips from [...]

I’ve Read About Men Like Them
Saturday, June 23rd, 2007Kate to Jack: Because you’re hoping you’re wrong. And every time she does something that tells you she’s no good, you ignore it. And every time she comes through and suprises you, she wins you over, and you lose that argument with yourself, that she’s not for you.
[...]
Huzzah for Season Three
Saturday, June 16th, 2007I saw singer Erik Santos crying in national television because he is no longer together with his girlfriend, actress Rufa Mae Quinto. Awww… That’s the most romance I have had this week and I felt kilig. Yay?
So I’m back in Cebu and the new job’s more pliant than the old one. Having copyediting, books, publishing, [...]

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007“I might tire from all that. I wish someone can make me tire of all that.“
-Kristine Roa
Well anyboo, Tessa is already here in Cebu and she’s been bawling nonstop and complaining of missing home. I used to be like her two years ago but she was exagerratingly underestimating herself. She is assigned to Cebu to [...]

Brazilian Nights at Formo
Sunday, May 20th, 2007If you say Jun Escario, you’re definitely not talking about the strip from SSS office to SugarFree Haven, but THE Jun Escario, fashion designer.
Had Banilad Town Center had been bombed that night, half of Cebu’s beautiful people will be dead. Sugarbuzz Productions produced Brazilian Nights at Formo where they showcased Jun Escario’s Summer/Spring 2007 Collection. That [...]
