    Princess of Harvest

    Thursday, January 17th, 2008

The first title & first award I’ve ever got was the title of ‘Princess Of Harvest way’ way back in the early 80’s.My cousins were terribly making fun of it when we’re teens.Hey you, princess of harvest how’s going? they’d teased me with it,lol If only I knew who created this silly title.I’d probably build her/him a monument near San Juanico Bridge, hehe

I’ve to admit I have been awfully negligent about passing on blog awards and badges of recognitions.I simply didn’t have much time naging bwizi kasi sa pagpapalito pagpapala at pagpipiko ng dolyares hehehe to collect and present them to the most amazing people here in blogosphere.

I’ll try to pass them on starting next week.Watch out for it!

    That’s Bullshit!

    Friday, January 11th, 2008

My PAGERANK 4 has now downgraded to ZERO!However,my SERPS ”search engine results pages” haven’t changed(Please see below).I’m still getting ‘the usual’ more than thousand hits a day with more than 300 unique. I’ve to emphasize the usual there as this is the  lowest number of visits I’m getting everyday. There were days sometimes, daily hits reaches to 700 unique IPs up to the highest of 4,000 hits (ok, it happened only 4 times last year,50% probably were from bots)

What am saying now is that, should we really care about what number big G is displaying? when you and I, know the fact that our blogsite traffic remain unchanged. Who cares about what number they display? I’ve read countless articles to find out why Big G has been indicating UNREALIABLE,FAKE pagerank to many bloggers. Many(if not all) of these articles were unfortunately only came up with a vague theory. No one can really explain why big G is doing this kind of Bullshit to many (paid or non-paid) bloggers.Anyway,traffic is much more important than PR right?

Having said all that,I’m still oh ohh ewww soo pissed!lol

Notice the 5 tacks? Well,it is always nice getting the highest grade right?lol

I am very pleased to know that some advertisers were so happy  and satisfied with the tasks or assignments I did for them.

Here’s how they grade according to one of the adverts people.

Think of the tacks as a grade of A-F.
5 tacks - Excellent (very happy with the post and my investment)
4 tacks - Above Average (pleased with the post)
    3 tacks - Average (disappointed)
2 tacks - Below average (unhappy with some small positive point)
1 tack - Failure (very unhappy, complete waste of my money)

    Never trust your banking system!

    Friday, January 11th, 2008

Withdrawal has been our primary method since we’ve started banking, lol The only change we’ve had was  using umbrella BUT we (both) never really liked it so we’re back to withdrawal which is like banking you can only have so many withdrawals without knowing when the next deposit is expected, lol So now, I am sitting around  while waiting for interest rates changes until I get that huge amount in August.

    Translation:

I’m 9 weeks pregnant and I’m expecting another half-tropical baby this august:)

    Internet Junkie

    Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

My first time to access the internet was in July 1996.I found it totally thrilling then and still is.I began using email and chat  (although chat, was for me too intimidating at the beginning) I have gotten myself liking at using it which eventually widened my contacts online.I spent about four hours (or more) daily on average using the internet at that time.Half of it was spent on chats and visiting sites I bookmarked or links forwarded to me thru mail or copied/pasted thru chats.I was loving it.I can get lose track of time and get lost in it easily.I met a wide variety of people online.Neurotics? yes…innumerable, lol  but also, really lovely people that I eventually struck up a friendship with or even offline relationship with. And the rest is history.

Almost everything I find on the www seems to be amazing. There’s no limit to what we can do.Imagine, having the world right at your fingertips, is truly amazing indeed.

How about you, when did your loveaffair with the internet start?

This is why we prefer artificial Christmas tree!

    Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

Artificial trees have become increasingly popular, as they are considered more convenient, cleaner, and if used for several years, less expensive than real trees, as well as less wasteful than cutting down real trees. At the end of the Christmas season artificial trees can be disassembled and stored compactly, nicely in the basement or attic, while real trees is facing a very gruesome fate, lol

    Your comments please!

    Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

As a blogger, you probably like getting comments or reading comments that are left on your blogs and probably you enjoy leaving comments on someone blogs as well.It really is awesome when some fellow start commenting on your blog. Me personally enjoy reading them.It is always nice to know that I am not the only one reading my blog, lol

Indeed comments are important. One of the most important aspect infact if you are having a blog.It indicates that your blog is indeed being read.Over couple of years before I start doing ads I got decent numbers of commenters. It sometimes reaches to over 50 comments a post which was really amazing. But this is not happening on this blog anymore, which actually I’d better admit that I am expecting this as well. There are days really when I checked my email, hoping that there are few comments to moderate only to find out with a big  disappointment that there were actually no comments to moderate. What’s even more shocking is when you get more than a thousand hit per day  and NO single comments  NULL ZERO as in NADA WALA except spam from those bots trying to sell viagra and penis enlargement tablets, lol

This was a lesson for me.I’ve never really try very hard to respond to comments in one way or another since I started doing the ads. It’s simply hard for me to find the time sometimes but with all honesty,I intend to change that attitude so I will make sure I’ll set aside some time to respond or make comments on other people’s blog. That’s a promise!

It would be greatly appreciated if you could give your honest answer to the following questions:

How much time do you spend on commenting?

Do you have a blog commenting strategy?

How do you handle not- so pleasant comments?

Do you check for a response from the author?

How important is it to you?

Do you automatically link your blog commenters to your blogroll?

What do you think of those commenters who only ask for exchange links?

    New Year Traditions

    Saturday, January 5th, 2008

I’ve been tag by shoshana of  MidasFive and UnsealMyLips.Daghang Salamat shos for thinking of me:)

Here goes: What are some of your new year’s good luck traditions?

We don’t have new year tradition here in Germany. My german husband never liked any aspect of New Year celebration. He couldn’t quite figure out the point of it .While other germans probably drinking, lighting fireworks and partying. My darling husband is on bed sleeping to welcome New Year, lol I guess,I get used to this kind of B-O-R-I-N-G celebration already.Well,I cooked pancit that day and he does not  like pancit hehe (he never liked complicated long foods, btw)

Here’s a foto I took from our living room on New Year’s eve.

    296851351.jpg

Here’s some traditions by some Germans to celebrate the New Year.

With the stroke of New Years Eve midnight everybody is hugging and wishing “Prosit Neujahr”Happy New Year to each other. One popular tradition to some is “Bleigiessen” where a candle is lit and small pieces of lead are melted in a spoon over the candle and drop it in to cold water and try to tell the future from the shape it made( A bird shape meant travel or a heart or ring shape meant a wedding etc)

And here are some New Year Traditions/Practices in the Philippines,

Filipino make sure to welcome the New Year with a bang by making noise like banging on pots and pans and blowing on car horns or lighting firecrackers as it is believed to drive the bad spirit away.

Prepare tons of food and 12 rounded fruits. It represent prosperity for the 12 months in the new year ahead!

People make sure to have coins/money in their pocket/wallet so that next year will be bountiful.

People usually open all the windows and doors (such covert doors) so graces it will come to their home as we welcome the New Year.

Some believe that you have to wear polka dots dresses or undies? hehe because dots symbolise money.

Eat pancit for good luck and long life.

Kids are encourage to jump several times as believed that when one jumps at the beginning of the year. They’ll grow taller<—it’s unfortunately didn’t work to many of us,hehe

How about you what’s your New Year Tradition?

How often do you change your ringtones?

    Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

People (young mobile phone users  especially) are tend  to change their ringtones as often as they pleased just for creating the sense of style and individuality. Many people assign different ringtones to each & every contact on their list, in order to distinguish quickly who’s calling. But let’s face it, not every person on the street appreciate this kind of feature. A call should be answered as soon as possible not so that one is able to listen these silly ringtones,an old lady commented. She’s probably right  but you see, for young mobile users having or using simple, plain ‘ring ring’ is embarrassing. You might not see the point why many of these young users are so loving having their favourite Hip Hop Ringtones and even willing to pay for Dance Ringtones only to stop it within a few seconds in order to answer the call.Forgive me if I’m wrong but it is just a matter of accepting the fact that some people out there, are not getting young anymore ,that they get irritated, annoyed quickly with all these fancy cool ringtones that young people are having on their mobile phones.Personally,I’m not into ringtones or mobile phones in general.I’m only using cell or mobile phone for emergency call. It’s just me!I’m probably getting old, lol.

Anyway,if you’re into ringtones MSNEmotions.org might be worth a visit as they offer great ‘Free Ringtones’ where you’ll find a wide range of cell phone ringtones available such Polyphonic Ringtones for download.Check them out!

    ‘The year of the rat’

    Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Do you know what the year of the Rat Holds in Store for You?

    Lots of cheese ofcourse!hehe

    ratatouille460.jpg

    Foto

According to my co-rat ‘Transposable element’ recent entry:

The clever rat has made many ambitious plans that will be put into action this year. Good fortune and good times will surround the rat in this year of glory. Easy social grace is a gift of those born in this sign, but trusted close friends and family are the center that the rat needs to secure prosperity. Beware of the battle of earth and water that may confuse the scurrying rat. This beginning of the year will see the rat tempted by many flirtatious relationships. Faithfulness and loyalty are difficult with so many admiring glances. Understand the fear of those you care for as you seem to be drawn to many new relationships. Take steps to avoid damage to your true partners. As the year passes the successful rat will see more serious relationships bear fruit. Although the rat is a water sign, boat crusies are not a good vacation plan. Travel to exotic lands to explore, meet new people and experience adventure may be the perfect honeymoon. With the influence of the earth aspects of this year, promises of commitments become real and those born in this sign may experience the blessings of marriage and of children added to their family. The rat who cannot focus on success will be misled and find much conflict and many uncomfortable scenes caused by straying from a match that will bring good fortune. When prosperity and love come easily they may not be treated with respect. The rat who will succeed is the one who remembers that greed and manipulation may bring quick victories but ultimately strenghten enemies. The cat is ever watchful of the rat who stole its place. Listen to the guidance of ancestors, loved ones and trusted friends. Beware of the flattery of casual admiration to completely fulfill the promise of extreme good fortune that this year holds.

Aha!sounds good to me ’It looks like a very promising year’ for the rats.Although it didn’t mention about paid blogging opp? lol

    From Germany with love…

My 2008 wishlist is sincerely goes to these poor children in the Philippines.I couldn’t help but shed many tears of sadness for these kids.I’m finding it very hard to ignore these photos and simply live my “normal daily life” without feeling guilty about having abundance of food to eat & sleeping in a soft clean warm bed.How lucky we all are!

1.I wish that God bless these children.

2.I wish to see these children getting proper education and better homes.

3.I wish they receive the love and attention that they so desperately need!

4.I wish people reach out,to lend a helping hand to these children.

5.I wish the Phil. Government to have human morals or concerns towards these children.

I’m sending my love to these little angels this New Year!

    Blog Addiction

    Saturday, December 29th, 2007

What made you start blogging ?

Not sure anymore what made me start blogging.I actually started it in 2004.I had my first blog hosted by Mblog but after few months they required bloggers to pay the space so decided to go for Blogspot where I was happy & contented til wordpress came. Then the rest were history.

    2. How many people that you know in real Life, know about and read your blog ?

Many many of them but they never leave comments (except my giving birth entry, lol) Funny thing is,if my post cracked them up,they would send me an email telling me that I’m crazy and they’re missing it.

    3. How important are hits and comments to you ?

They’re like a morning cup of coffee.I don’t think this blog would ever survive without them.Getting hits & comments  really makes my day.

    4. How personal are your posts ? or, if someone you knew found out about your blog, how much trouble would you be in ?

I’m avoiding personal angry-bitchy kind of post as much as I can.But few exceptions to it ofcourse. In that case, these are moments when I have PMS or full moon or something, hehe

    5. Have you been to / would you attend a blogger meet-up ?
I’ve been to blogger meet up (eyeball) thrice infact. Please see photos.

My ever first meet up with fellow pinay bloggers was at Ruth’s son b-day party in 2004.There, I’ve met Anp and two other bloggers, justice & jhing and ofcourse, their cuty kiddies & daddies:)

Full attendance with EU bloggers like Thess,Jing,Svelte,Justice,Alaine,Anp & Ruth. Can you imagine, accommodating 7 of them with kids & husbands for weekend?Well, I did and no regret on my part.My husband enjoyed it,too. That was a blast indeed!

    Network Solutions

    Friday, December 28th, 2007

The very first thing  we’ll notice when we visit a website is the style, theme or design one is using. It usually suggest something about the owner’s personal taste & style but ofcourse,it’s not always the case.I’m personally pretty much of minimalist.I’d love or prefer an easy-on-the-eyes color, inviting & pleasant to look at, Web Page Design.

Browsing is obviously, time consuming activity but if you are into networking. This interesting, enjoyable practice comes naturally with it.The first thing that usually comes in mind when visiting a website is ‘Does this site have the information we need? Surprisingly,we make a certain impressions based on website looks alone.Wicked, but we do quickly ‘get the picture’ or get the feeling of what information can be found on a stranger’s website by just looking at the kind of Web Design one is using for their website.

We don’t argue to the fact that there is room for anything on the web but if you intend to draw people in to your site, consider a design, theme, style or features that works best for you.As they say, your webspace is a mini-replica of yourself or at least reflect the style of the person owns it.This is why, choosing the right design is very crucial.Good thing, there’s Network Solutions  who are committed that provide excellent services such as: Web hosting, Web site design, online marketing, e-mail and more with very competitive rates.Superb customer service guaranteed. Visit Network Solutions today!
